Top 10 Christmas Songs / December Music Feature

Tis the Season!! Christmas is right around the corner and Christmas songs can be heard in just about every mall across America.

I’ve compiled the Top 10 songs that are on repeat around my house. The song and our favorite version!

The Little Drummer Boy

Written in 1940 this classic song is a favorite among many.

It has been done by countless artists over the years but my favorite version is by Jars Of Clay and you can view it Here

Jingle Bell Rock

Written in 1957 just about everyone has to dance around a bit when this comes on. Such a feel good song with great rhythm. It’s a favorite with my kids.

The original singer Bobby Helms is our favorite version and you can listen to it Here.

Do you Hear What I Hear

Written in 1962, This is one of my Mom’s favorite Christmas Songs. It will always be special to me and hold special memories of her singing it.

Winter Wonderland

Written in 1934, Choirs have been singing this tune for well over 50 years. The catchy heart warming tune is fun and will lighten any mood.

All I Want For Christmas

Released in 1994, this Christmas song pulls on the heart strings. Spouse, friend or family member- this song can apply.

Carol of The Bells

Composed in 1914 this song is one of the oldest on this list. It’s a magical tune that sums up the Christmas excitement.

My favorite version is by the choir of Lee’s University. You can listen to their Acapella vrersion Here.

The Chipmunk Song

“Christmas don’t be late” … My kids love this song and I know I loved it as I was growing up to.  Released originally in 1962, it’s such a fun little song for the Holiday.

I'm Getting Nuttin For Christmas

The seasons theme song for most kids. Becoming popular in 1955 this tune has been delighting young and old for years.

Santa Baby

Released in 1953 this cute little song is a tung in cheek approach to the holidays.  Every one has dreams right… Christmas wishes might come true…

Joy to The World

Written in 1719, this is the oldest song to make this list. A classical Christmas song for centuries. One of my favorites to sing and to play on the piano.
