Quiet in the World

There’s a quiet in the world
That wasn’t there before
And a lingering feeling of fear
Stretches from mountains to the shores

For never before have I seen
Streets so silent and bare
Yet holding onto memories
Of those who’ve traveled there.

There’s history in the making
And a need to realize
The world is shifting around us
Changing before our eyes

Catastrophes come and go
And mankind does their part
But nows the time to stand together
Whether close or far apart.

There’s a quiet in the world
But listen close and you’ll hear
The singing of birds, reassures
The earth will persevere.
