Walk Beside Me

I can’t dream of tomorrow,
For I’m living here today,
Traveling a path of shadows
that wound through yesterday.

I can’t foresee the future,
Yet I’ve moved on from the past.
I live for the present moment,
And the memories that will last.

I can no longer promise forever,
For tomorrow’s a mystery.
And time is a fickle fiend,
that likes to change on me.

So walk beside me if you will,
For a minute, an hour, a day,
Cherish the moments that we receive,
and in my heart you’ll stay.
