Thunder Spell

Look to the horizon
watch the darkness swell
As mother nature casts
a dark and ominous spell
Lightening quickly spiderwebs
across the blackened sky
As ravenous Thunder bellows
It’s furious war torn cry.
Ponderous gray clouds
Drift across the plain
As the parched savanna prepares
For a deluge of expectant rain
The wind unleashes its fury
A gale of merciless force
Even the bravest traveler
Would cower and change course
Once the storm passes
The sun will lighten the mood
Mother nature’s spell is done
For all has been renewed.
