Walk

A blanket of white covers the ground
As darkness settles without a sound
Reflections of diamonds dance and take flight
As you walk along on this winter night.

The coldest of breezes nips at your nose
As the snow gently crunches under your toes
Walking along you try to find
A place that’s still, to rest your mind

Pause for a moment to take it all in
Life must end to begin again
A winters night, quiet and cold
Whispers of secrets our ancestors told

nightwalk
